What are Prepayments?

Some businesses ask for payment upfront when you’re booking an appointment. This helps them ensure that your appointment time is secured and that they can focus on you, what you want, and how to make it happen.

The business may require only a portion of the bill to be paid ahead of time or the full amount. Check each business's Payment & Cancellation Policy in their Profile to make sure you understand the commitment you’re making when booking an appointment.

How do Prepayments work?

If the business you’re booking an appointment with requires Prepayments, you’ll be asked to enter your card information. The Prepayment amount will be charged to your card when your booking is confirmed, and you’ll also have the option to add a tip at that time. If you owe any balance after the appointment is complete, you’ll be able to pay it with your card on file.

To make Checkout even easier, enable automatic online payments so your card can be charged automatically at the end of your service. To turn on automatic online payments in your Booksy app, go to Profile > Payments > toggle on "Automatic Online Payments”.

If you do not show up for your appointment, the Prepayment will not be refunded. Contact the business directly to see if they can reschedule your appointment based on their Cancellation and No-Show policies.
