Recently, we have detected suspicious activity on your account. As we suspect, an unauthorized person gained access to your account from outside Booksy sources, possibly as a result of malware on your device. We also suspect that their goal was to gain control of your account, potentially to make unauthorized withdrawals. While we have no evidence that any client or staff data was misused, it is possible they viewed information such as names, phone numbers, emails, or appointment details.
The potential risks associated with this type of access include:
• Unauthorized changes to your payout information.
• Exposure of personal data and booking details for you, your clients, and your staff.
• Loss of control over your account or appointment data.
• Phishing or spam attempts targeting you or your clients.
Our Immediate Action and Preventive Measures
• As soon as the situation was identified, we took immediate action to secure your account and prevent further risk:
• We temporarily blocked your account to protect your data.
• We temporarily blocked your payouts to prevent unauthorized transactions.
• We've implemented additional monitoring for unusual login activity to detect and prevent similar targeted actions.
• We are also reaching out directly to assist you with your account's recovery.
Your Next Steps
To help protect yourself, your staff, and your clients and to restore your account, we urge you to take the following actions immediately:
• Scan your devices: Scan all your devices to ensure they are free from malware. Alternatively, use only another device with security hygiene managed
• Change Your Passwords (Booksy BIZ & email): Create a new, strong password for your Booksy BIZ account. We also highly recommend you change the password for the email account associated with your Booksy BIZ account.
• Verify Your Account: Carefully review your account to ensure your payout details are correct and check for any unusual activity.
• Protect Other Accounts: If you use the same password on other services, change those passwords immediately to prevent further exposure.
